 The House on Black Lake explore a woman's experience as she is lured into a seductive web of intrigue and deceit, and held a virtual prisoner on Black Lake. Although Alexandra Brighton takes the trip to the exclusive enclave of summer homes outside Montreal on her own volition, to find resolution to her obession with charismatic Ramey Sandeley, she does not initially realize there is no way out. By the time she recognizes there are sinister forces at work she is essentially kidnapped and forced to confront the dark forces at play within the shadows of the lake, and well as inside her own heart. In the end Alexandra must must make a dramatic personal transformation is she is to survive.
